Back to School Already?!

My baby goes off to Junior High. I hope those big eighth graders take it easy on my little "sevvie"! Dang, he's cute!

I cannot believe how big these boys are! That's Cody there next to Eric. He is my unofficial son. They have been best friends since diapers. Cody once said that when he was little he thought Eric was his brother! Very sweet.
The boys and I are in the process of re-doing their room. It seems like this picture was taken just yesterday, but this was 2005. Look at those buzz cuts! Since we still have blue carpet, coming up with new ideas for their room has been challenging! The funny thing is, Eric still likes blue best and Max still likes red best. But neither of them wants anything country or Americana. I am thinking of using blue, red, grey, black and white and going very modern. I thought graphic stripe "headboards" painted on the wall would be kind of neat using varying widths of those colors. Not sure what to paint the rest of the walls. Grey? That would be very neutral for them. Opinions welcome! (Of course, we know it will be Christmas before I get it done! I have so many home projects that need attending!)

Hey! What's this? It's Raggedy and Maddie! I love my sweet Raggedy Ann! And Maddie is going to be for sale. Where? Ebay or Etsy- I am having a hard time deciding.
Speaking of decisions- I did restate my position with E. He was so eager to separate in June and since then he has done a complete 180 turnabout. He's even wearing his wedding band and keeps my framed photo on his desk at work. His work ...where I also work. Whatever. Everytime I restate my intentions, we get a little further along in the separation. For the most part, that is exactly what I want. However...all this "alone" time just brings to the surface all my insecurities. I am having to face just how much I "need to be needed" and have thus contributed to state of my marriage. Well, anyway, it's all a learning experience and I am doing the work to get to a happier place. I'm thankful to have this blog and be able to share this kind of thing here in addition to having "in person" support who are helping me find that happier place.

Hugs to all!

Hi Bettsi!
I just got done with my 15 yr olds room...hot pink and black! I think grey walls would look terrific with the blue carpet. You should look at the HGTV site called www.ratemyspace.com to get ideas on headboards etc. Be warned...it's addictive! Thanks for visiting me today! And yes, my new little crocheted picture reminds me exactly of your yo yo pillow! I'll let you know when it's listed! Thanks!

Your Raggedy is SO sweet!

I HAVE to finish the diaper bag and crib toys I started for my daughter the baby is due anytime in the next few weeks. She tends to go early.

But as soon as they're done, I really want to get back to my dolls.

Hang in there Bettsi and pray hard.
He gives that peace that is beyond understanding.

Hia Bettsi, whenever I'm a bit stuck for ideas I go out into nature and see what colours are put together there. It might be in water, landscape, or a leaf but when I have an idea in my head, I often then find the colours there. Sometimes it can be a shop window or how people are sitting on the beach making interesting colour combinations with their beach wear. Good luck with the decorating.
What about personalising the head boards specific to each boy's fav colours and teams, and the room a neutral?

On 4th of Sept I offially am the mother of teenagers! Eeek! How did I get so old? LOL

Hang in there, Miss Bettsi, and don't compromise yourself. Life's too short!

LOVE the red and blue! I second the ratemyspace suggestion. There's tons of inspiring information there.

Big HUGS!

My son started 8th grade last week and said one of the best parts was that no one would call them "sevvies" any more! I had never heard that term before, but it must be a common thing, huh? -Julia :-)

Hi Bettsi, sorry I haven't been a better blogger friend lately. The kids are back at school next week so hopefully I'll be able to keep up with my friends.
I have been on my own for a while now and it was my decision. It has been a good time and I have done a lot of thinking and reassessing just what I want and need from a relationship. For a long time I chose people who needed me and who I thought I could fix and this has been one of my lessons. If ever you need to talk just drop me a line :D
*Hugs to you*
I love raggedy and Maddie. They are gorgeous. I would love to do a swap with you. I do know something which I would love to get from you but feel cheeky asking ;)
I'll email you.
Your kids are so gorgeous. I am sure you will do a fantastic job of their room.
